The “apartment wave” continues all over Atlanta, and Chamblee is no exception. And while one might think that most of Chamblee’s development is happening in their Downtown or Peachtree Blvd areas, this proposal is near I-85 and Clairmont Road.

220-Unit Apartment Development Planned for Chamblee

The proposed project, listed as “Bainbridge Chamblee” on the application, will use three vacant parcels (currently covered in vegetation and trees) and two parcels that have vacant commercial buildings on them. The location is 3077 Clairmont Road, at the corner of Century Place. The site is adjacent to Century Center and the Atlanta Marriott Century Center. Other significant businesses include a Sam’s Club member warehouse, McDonald’s, Waffle House and Holiday Inn Express

Plans call for 220 apartment units consisting of 8 studio, 134 1-bedroom and 76 2-bedroom units. The community would have a parking deck with 327 spaces (hey, we do still have cars in Metro Atlanta!), and approximately 9,500 sq.ft of retail/restaurant space. Additionally, the site plan included 2 live/work units at 2,400 sq. ft. each.

Bainbridge Chamblee

The application for Bainbridge Chamblee does not offer a timeline for construction, but the proposal will be presented to the Chamblee Architectural Review Board on Tuesday, October 3 at 7pm. The Full Application packet can be viewed at the City of Chamblee website.

This project could, long-term, move the office park to be transformed into a higher-density mixed-use center that’s a strong, regional employment center, according to Chamblee’s future development plan.
