For those that have lived in the Briarcliff/Shallowford Road area….you’ve probably seen the rise and maybe a slight fall of Northlake Mall. Heck, I have to be honest…I’ve not been in that Mall in YEARS! So not sure what that says!

The Northlake Mall area has been a source of focus with recent attempts to incorporate the area around the Mall and going towards I-85 and South to the Atlanta border. Obviously, this area would be a key commercial component to any city formed (if that ever happens) in this area.

The Future of Northlake Mall

This coming Monday, April 24th, the North Briarcliff Civic Association (NBCA) will sponsor a presentation (open to the public) about the potential future of the Northlake Mall area. This will be in the Sanctuary of the Briarcliff United Methodist Church (4105 Briarcliff Rd NE) at the intersection of Briarcliff Road and Shallowford Road. The Meeting starts at 7:00pm

The keynote speaker will be Ann Rosenthal, president of the Tucker-Northlake Community Improvement District (CID). Bring your curiosity and your questions. There will be a Question & Answer (Q&A) period after the presentation.

Northlake Mall CIDA CID is a public-private partnership that tries to increase economic value in the CID area by leveraging business and government investment in economic development and infrastructure improvements. The area covered by the Tucker-Northlake CID includes the Northlake Mall, and the CID’s vision is that Northlake’s regional commercial center evolves into an economically successful, mixed-use, walkable destination, and the industrial center becomes a desirable business location with unparalleled highway access to metro Atlanta and beyond.
